Dennis Sullivan Lewis

Dennis Sullivan Lewis, age 68 passed away in Orange Park, Florida on February 3, 2025.

He was born on July 11, 1956, in West Jefferson, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Georgia Miller Lewis.

Dennis graduated with a degree in English from David Lipscomb University in 1978. He also worked as a copy desk editor at the Florida Times-Union. For over 25 years, he was employed as a Resource Development Projects Specialist at Florida State College, working on grants for higher education.

He enjoyed travelling and spending time with friends. He had a passion for music and was an accomplished organist. He supported Universities, Music programs and Theater Arts with sizable charitable donations.

Mr. Lewis is survived by an aunt, Betty Monroe of Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania. Several cousins and close friends also survive. He will be especially missed by Kim, Kaitlyn, Jenna, Della, Leland, Steve, and his coworkers at Florida State College.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
