Barbara Ann (Hurst) Walker

Barbara Ann Hurst Walker, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2023. She was born on March 1, 1933, in Gilford County, North Carolina, to her late parents, Mercer and Margaret Beck Hurst. Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew her.

Barbara's life was filled with love and adventure. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Glenn Lee Walker, with whom she enjoyed countless adventures while traveling in their beloved motorhome. Exploring new places together brought joy and lasting memories, making their bond even stronger.

In addition to her husband, Barbara was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Walker, brother, Bill Hurst and sister, Doris Mitchell. Despite the losses she faced in her life, Barbara remained resilient and held on to the beautiful memories they shared.

Barbara's faith played a central role in her life, and she found immense comfort and joy in her church family at Friendship Baptist Church. Music was a passion for Barbara, and she had a particular fondness for classic country and gospel tunes. Listening to these melodies uplifted her spirit and brought joy to her heart.

As an avid animal lover, Barbara had a special bond with her beloved animals. Her pets were more than just pets; they were cherished members of her family

As we say our farewells, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones in the eternal embrace of heaven.
