Annie Juanita Blevins Mullis

Annie Juanita Blevins Mullis, age 94, of West Jefferson, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Born on July 19, 1930, in Wilkes County, Annie was the daughter of Edgar and Carrie Elliott Blevins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, William Carl Mullis; her sisters, Irene Blevins, Edna Shumate, and Pauline Church; and her brothers, Theodore Blevins and Charlie Blevins.

Annie lived a life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys. She was a longtime member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church, where she found strength in her faith and joy in fellowship. She especially cherished time spent reading her Bible and attending church.

A gifted homemaker, Annie was known for her warm hospitality and her talents in the kitchen—particularly her homemade biscuits and gravy, which became a cherished tradition for those who loved her. She also had a passion for working with her hands, also finding joy in quilting and crocheting.

Mrs. Mullis is survived by: daughters, Kathy Brown of Millers Creek; son, Dale (Vickie) Mullis of West Jefferson; daughter, Diana (Rick) Goodman of West Jefferson; daughter, Ruth (Tony) Mash of Fleetwood; sister, Ruth McNeill of West Jefferson; six grandchildren, thirteen grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Johnny Goodman. Burial will follow in the Colvard Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service.

Annie’s gentle nature and deep love for her family and faith will be remembered always.
