Thurman Wesley Blevins age 85 of Lansing passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Mr. Blevins was born on April 28, 1932 in Glade Springs, VA to the late, Fieldon and Rose Hamm Blevins, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Irene Powers, two brothers, David (Dave) Blevins, Thelmus (Bunn) Blevins and one son, Thurman Carlton Blevins. Mr. Blevins retired from Vannoy Construction. He attended Warrensville Baptist Church. He enjoyed serving the Lord, reading his bible, and spending time with family and friends. He was a talented wood worker and enjoyed making many beautiful carvings at home. He also made the sign for Lansing Town Park for the community. Thurman was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, companion and friend.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Wade Huntsinger and Rev. John Elledge. Burial will follow in Scott Blevins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service.
Mr. Blevins is survived by: special friend and caregiver, Mary Adams of Warrensville, two daughters, Levone Phillips & husband Joe of Hickory and Linda Robinson & husband Ron of West Jefferson three sons, Danny Blevins & wife Carol of Hickory, Gregory Blevins of Crumpler and Jimmy Dean Blevins & wife Renee of Warrensville, daughter in-law, Joan Blevins of West Jefferson, one sister, Reba Eller & husband Lee of Lansing; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family is meeting at the home of his son at 299 River Drive in Warrensville.
