Sonny Bare age 81 of Jefferson passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Born Richard Quinon Bare, Jr., son of Richard Quinon Bare, Sr. and Nell Miller Bare, in Ashe County on Sunday, August 30, 1936, in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, one brother, Billy Bare, one sister, Elaine Little and a nephew, Michael Bare. Sonny faithfully served the Lord as a member and deacon of Wagoner Baptist Church. Spending time in nature and the outdoors was important to Sonny, you could often find him working in his garden, feeding the birds or spending time with his beloved dog, Abby. In the summer when the weather was good you might find him and Wanda riding in his yellow, 1950 Ford convertible.

Mr. Bare is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Wanda Day Bare, sister in-law, Helen Bare, three nephews, Alan Bare, Keith Little, Martin Little, one niece, Anne Bowlin and special cousin, Bobby Miller and wife Linda.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Jefferson Cemetery by Rev. Lloyd Day and Rev. Steve Viers.
