Jean Roop Bare

Jean Roop Bare, age 76 of Jefferson passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born on March 2, 1948 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late, Jack Andrew and Madeline Ham Roop. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Johnny Roop.

Jean’s love for gardening was evident in the vibrant blooms that adorned her home. She loved working in her flowers tending to them with care, cultivating beauty in every corner of her garden.

However, it was during the Christmas season that Jean truly came alive. Every year she transformed her home into a Christmas wonderland. Her decorations became a source of joy and wonder for all who visited. The magic of Christmas radiated from her home, enveloping everyone in its warm embrace.

Above all else she cherished her family and grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent in their company. Her love for them knew no bounds.

Mrs. Bare is survived by her husband, Kenneth Bare, daughter, Anita Gonsiorowski of Mooresville, son, Mikel Bare of Jefferson, brother, Raymond Roop of Concord, 5 grandchildren, Zachary, Gannon, Makenna, Dalton and Gage, 2 great-grandchildren, Levi and Torynn as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 11:00am at the Pennington Cemetery by Rev. Lloyd Day.
